Tri-County Plans 150-lap LMS Event and Kid’s Night
Hudson, North Carolina (June 29, 2006) - Tri-County
Motor Speedway is under new ownership and this Friday night
and is starting out with the “Do the Dew 150” for Late
Models, presented by Mountain Dew and Kid’s Night featuring
Bubbles the Clown.
There will also be regular racing in the Super Stock,
Street Stock, Mini Stock, Fast & Furious and the
Tri-County Minis with several heated points battles coming
into play.
Casola Motorsports are the new owners. Mr.
Casola is an out-of-state businessman and also the owner of a
Hooters Pro Cup race team, which his son, Dominic, is the
driver.
His first change was to name Willie Evernham as competition
director and Mickey Caratello as administrator of Tri-County
Motor Speedway, to work closely with Russ Leicht, the race
director. All employees are expected to
stay at this time, as there are no personnel changes planned.
Next, he said to increase the fan base and the car count.
He has raised the purses and lowered the admission
price. A regular weekly show will reflect the changes in the
admission prices.
A Family Package for $25 is being offered to fans with the
admission of two adults and as many children as you have.
Single adults prices are $12, seniors are $7 and children
under 12 are free. As a special bonus, Mountain Dew and Pepsi
are also providing give-a-ways for the kids. Bubbles
will be at the speedway to delight the kids with her balloon
sculptures.
Pit gates open at 4pm for competitors, trackside
parking at 5 and the main grandstand at 6. Practice will
start at 6, qualifying at 7 and racing at 8. Call the speedway
