Tri
County Speedway host UARA-STARS
The
date will be April 10, 2009 that the UARA-STARS will thunder
into the Tri County Speedway to wow the crowds once again.
2009 is going to have so many very talented drivers running
that it is going to be near impossible to pick whom the
winners will be. The
UARA host the best of the best in late model stock drivers and
every driver that makes the show has the ability to be the
winner.
Matt
McCall was the last UARA winner at Tri County and is hot to
fly after setting on the pole and winning the Bristol event on
March 21. McCall
has not lost a single pinch of the championship form he has
shown to the fans in the past.
McCall captured the UARA title in 2005 and can show the
other drivers what a champ is all about and that he still has
it.
McCall
will not have an easy going of it with the likes of Jamey
Caudill, Richard Boswell II, Paddy Rodenbeck, Owen Kelly, Kyle
Grissom, Jordan McGregor, John King II, Matthew Godley,
Darrell Wallace Jr., Brandon McReynolds and 2008 champion Jake
Crum breathing down his neck.
Reigning
Champion Jake Crum has been doing some serious testing with
the ARCA series under the watchful eyes of Bill Venturini and
we hear he had some very impressive times doing so.
Crum was leading the Bristol event when he suffered to
the jinx of the track he has there and ended his night in the
pits.
Former
Rookies of the year Kyle Grissom and Darrell Wallace, Jr.
always have great rides going but have both had mechanical
problems to start with for 2009. With luck the bad is all done
now and they will do some serious challenging for the front of
the pack. Brandon
McReynolds too will be hoping all of his bad luck is behind
him.
Will
Clay Greenfield sneak up on his fellow competitors and claim
the Sunoco Pole for the second time at Tri County.
He beat out McCall last year with a 16.271 over
McCall’s 16.286.
The
UARA plan to have the Street Stock division back for the
event. Jonathan Smith and Kevin Eby who finished second and
third respectively at our Street Stock race in 2008 will be on
hand for the show. They
will have their minds set on capturing the win along with
David Smith, Gary Sutton. Jeremy Pelfry and a host of others.
Mike Sutton will be housing three cars for the Street
Stock race.
John
Litzinger will bring his Pro Challenge drivers to be part of
the event as well. These
young will be an added extra to several UARA events for 2009
as they follow the tour to approximately ten shows this year.
