Canipe Now Has Six Reasons to be Happy at Tri-County

Hudson, North Carolina (July 24, 2009) - Dexter Canipe, Jr. is enjoying a season at Tri-County Motor Speedway most drivers can only dream about during their career. After the regular divisions had the week off last week with UARA bringing its touring series to TCMS, Canipe led the regulars back into action Friday night. Canipe won his sixth Late Model Stock race of the season holding back Ty Dillon, grandson of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car owner Richard Childress for the win. R.A. Brown, who won the season-opening race back in April, was third. Tyler Brown finished fourth and Jesse Lefevers completed the top five.

Canipe also made it six wins in the Limited Late Model race as well. Chris Phipps finished second with Dominic Casola getting his best finish of the season in third. Mark McIntosh was fourth with Terrence Tucker fifth.

In the Baton Tire Street Stock division race, Kevin Eby picked up his first win in the division since June 19 and his third overall of the season. David Smith was second and Josh Burchette came home third. Waylon Flynn and Charlie Watson completed the top five.

Dustin Walker won his second straight Renegade race with Dillon Crouch and Barney Arnette completing the top three. The Tarheel Vintage cars made their third visit to the speedway this year and Sam Bean took home the win.

Next Friday night, July 31, all four regular divisions will be in action plus the Allison Legacy Series makes it second visit to the track in a special race in the series started by NASCAR legend Donnie Allison. For more information please contact Rita Martin at 828-726-6600.
