Located in Western North Carolina, Tri-County Motor
Speedway is a 4/10 mile banked asphalt track racing weekly on Friday night
as it has for most of it's existence. A NASCAR Home Track facility,
TCMS features Late Models as it's premier division and has been a proving
ground for many of today's rising talents.

Wimbish
Takes Season-opening Win at Tri County
Hudson,
North Carolina (April 2, 2010) - The
2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race season got off to
a great start Friday night at Tri County Speedway with five
divisions in action at the .400-mile facility located in
western North Carolina. Grant
Wimbish won the season-opening Late Model Stock feature edging
Michael Cherry for the victory. Tyler Brown finished third
with Josh Wright and Jeff Myers completing the top five.
Tyler
Church, a winner at TCMS last season, returned to Victory Lane
on opening night taking the checkered flag in the Limited Late
Model feature event. Chris Lewis followed in second with Jason
Cochran third. Waylon Flynn was fourth and Christian Pahud
rounded out the top five in the division.
The
trucks made their 2010 debut on Friday with Michael Faulk
taking the checkered flag in the competitive race. Thomas
Beane followed in second with Michael Cooper coming home
third. Ricky Dennie was fourth and Jason Franklin was fifth.
Burnsville
native Marshall Sutton added to his
already impressive career
wins total after leading the Baton Tire Street Stock division
in the season-opener. Kevin Townsend was second with Dustin
Walker third and David Smith fourth. Roy Smith completed the
top five.
Greg
Austin won the fan favorite Renegade Division feature with
Barney Arnette second and Dan Moore third. Travis Baldwin was
fourth and Carroll McKinney fifth.
All
five divisions will return to action next Friday night, April
