From
Down-Under to Career First LM Win at TCMS
Hudson,
North Carolina (August 20, 2010) - Friday
Aug 20th was another great night of NASCAR racing action at
the 4/10th mile Tri-County Motor Speedway with a great crowd
on hand the drivers delivered a thrilling night of racing
action.
In
Late Model competition, it was Australia's George Miedecke
besting the field to win his first ever Late Model Stock Car
event doing so following claming the pole award earlier in the
evening. Mackena Bell was the runner up and Grant Wimbish
locked up the 2010 Tri-County Motor Speedway NASCAR Late Model
driving title with his strong 3rd place run.
Tyler
Church won yet another race in the Limited Late Models and
moved to within 6 points of Waylon Flynn going into this
Friday's Championship Night. Flynn finished 2nd ensuring
an exciting on track battle between these two drivers to
decide the 2010 NASCAR Limited Late Model Champion here at the
Tri-County Motor Speedway, Josh Goble had another consistent
run to finish 3rd
.
In
the Super Truck event, it was the 6 of Brandon Setzer taking
the checkered flag for the fourth time in 2010 with the 29 of
Ricky Dennie coming home in 2nd. Dennie all but locked
up his first ever NASCAR Super Truck driving title as he
now holds a 26 point advantage over the 15 of Dominick Casola
going into the last points event of the season, Jake Marlowe
completed the podium with his 3rd place finish.
Charlie
Watson was victorious in the Street Stock Main event in his
red and yellow Chevrolet Camaro as he won for the first time
in 2010 he was followed to the stripe by past Tri-County Motor
Speedway Champ Kevin Eby and rounding out the top three was
Roy Smith in the number 99. Fourth place finisher
Marshall Sutton currently holds a 32 point advantage over Roy Smith heading
into this Friday's Championship finale.
Carroll
McKinney returned to his winning ways of early 2009 by taking
home the victory in the 20 lap event for the Renegade Class it
was his first win of 2010. Greg Austin was the runner up
and now leads the points by 42 markers over 2009 Champ Dillion
Crouch, Dan Moore finished 3rd in his number 22
.
Robert
Barndt made his 4 hour trip from Tennessee worth while as he
dominated the Road Rage event leaving a path of mangled
automobiles at every turn easily making this event the most
entertaining Road Rage event of 2010.
